WHY ACSS

The ACSS is Australia’s premier student-led national security conference, offering immersive crisis simulations to develop the next generation of national security leaders. Click the ‘About Us’ tab to learn more.

Applications are open to all undergraduate university students across Australia. We welcome students from all academic fields, including, but not limited to law, international relations, computer science, engineering, or related fields.

No prior experience is needed. Our delegates come from a wide range of academic backgrounds and our workshops and panels will provide the necessary background knowledge on national security and government operations.

You will develop leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, which are valuable to any career field.

Delegates are required to pay a small fee to help cover the costs of food, software, and other activities. Details on the 2026 delegate fee will be communicated clearly during the application process.

While the Summit is held in Canberra, we welcome applications from all over Australia. Our 2025 Summit had delegates from all states and territories. Travel support information, if available, will be provided when 2026 applications open.
